The Lucchese crime family was one of the ‘Five families’that was a part of and dominated the organized crime activities in New York, USA. They were majorly responsible for nationwide criminal phenomenon which was known as Mafia. This family was known to spread crime in USA which was associated with theft, robbery, murders, kidnappings and drugs.
Anyone who crossed the family was murdered, making this family one of the bloodiest reigns in Mafia history. Boss
It was the Boss who was the leader of the Lucchese family and sat on top of the family hierarchy pyramid. He was the one who had most of the power and made all the important decisions as well. The Boss’s word was final and no one spoke against him under any circumstance. He distributed duties and delegated work to the rest of the family members.
Street Boss
The next person in the Lucchese family hierarchy was the Street Boss who was considered as the go-to-guy for the boss and played the role of passing on orders of the boss to the other members of lower ranking persons. In the case when the boss was arrested or died, the ruling panel substituted the street boss role.
Underboss
The Underboss was the second or third in command and reported directly to the Boss. The Underboss was like the right hand of the Boss and enjoyed a lot of respect and power within the family.
Consigliere
Even the Consigliere enjoyed a position of great importance and was responsible for taking certain important decisions as well. He reported directly to the Boss and often performed some of his duties as well.
Soldiers
After the position of the higher ranking members came the Soldiers who worked as per the instructors of the Underboss and the Consigliere. The soldiers performed small tasks and jobs and worked mainly on the field. They executed main criminal tasks like thefts, robbery, murders and kidnapping.
Others on the sidelines
There were some others who didn’t really belong to the main family but worked with it to execute some important tasks. They were needed every now and then and helped establish connections as well.
