Marketing Management Hierarchy

Many people work in an organization but all do not work at the same level. The management of a company depends on the proper working of all these officials since all officials work and operate at different positions. The designations in the company compose the hierarchy, like designations in a marketing firm will compose the marketing management hierarchy of that organization.

In this article we will discuss the general sequence of marketing management hierarchy which is followed by most of the organizations in the same or with slight variations. Following are the levels starting from the entry level or the junior level management and ending with the highest one in the industry. Let us take a look at this hierarchy.

Top Level Marketing Management

  • Regional Marketing Manager
  • Chief Marketing Officer or Marketing Director

Senior Level Marketing Management

  • Marketing Team Leader
  • Branch Marketing Executive

Junior Level Marketing Management

  • Marketing Trainee / Marketing Assistants
  • Marketing Associates

Junior Level Marketing Management

This is the lowest level of the marketing management hierarchy and incorporates following sub levels:

  • Marketing Trainee / Marketing Assistants – This level is comprised of the fresh graduates or inexperienced candidates. These entry level employees assist marketing associates while working. Since this is an entry level position, candidates are hired on stipend or training basis. Once they complete their internship they are offered salary and are promoted to the next level in the hierarchy.
  • Marketing Associates – The marketing associates are senior to marketing trainees. Normally the marketing trainees assist marketing associates during their amorous training. These professionals are directed to report to their team leader.

Senior Level Marketing Management

This is the middle level executive level of the marketing management hierarchy. It incorporates:

  • Marketing Team LeaderThese professionals are responsible for supervising the entire team of marketing associates in their outlet and managing the marketing team to fulfill the targets on time for the company in an exquisite manner.
  • Branch Marketing Executive – The professional who handles the marketing tasks for the company’s entire branch are referred to as branch marketing executives. They are responsible for all marketing related issues for their branch. These professionals report directly to regional marketing manager.

Top Level Marketing Management

This is the top level of the marketing management hierarchy and is responsible for administrative level work in the company. It incorporates all the big marketing management titles of the corporate which are described as following:

  • Regional Marketing ManagerRegional marketing manager handles the marketing tasks for the company for a specified region provided by the company to the regional marketing manager. This is the first level in the top level marketing management.
  • Chief Marketing Officer or Marketing DirectorThe highest managerial level attainable in the marketing management hierarchy is of a chief marketing officer, CMO also referred as the marketing director. He/she takes overall care of managing profit oriented customer relationships as well as takes complete responsibility of the organization’s direction.
